DARPA Robotics Challenge (DRC)

The DRC was a worldwide competition of robot systems and software teams vying to develop robots capable of assisting humans in responding to natural and man-made disasters. OSRF provided the software and infrastructure for the Virtual Robotics Challenge (VRC), in which teams competed in simulation to win an Atlas robot. Gazebo was used by 14 of the 23 teams leading up to the Finals.

OSRF sent the entire 16-person staff to exhibit at the DRC Finals in Pomona, CA. I designed and tested our 4 interactive demos, and managed the booth logisitcs before and during the event. This included: booth layout, equipment rental, gear shipment, scheduling, demo testing, staff training, travel coordination, etc.

In a previous life, I think I was an event coordinator.
